In her own words....

Like many others, I've been a Duran Duran fan for well over 20 years. I didn't get to see them in concert until the 1993 Wedding Album tour -- which has made this particular interlocking DD graphic more special to me.

I added the sun around the graphic because it represents multiple things for me. It represents the DD reunion and the original group's first new music in 20 years. It represents the song "Sunrise," which I adore and itself is about new beginnings. It represents a new start that I've had in my own life since the spring of 2004.

This tattoo was a reward to myself for a significant weight-loss accomplishment, and I knew I had to incorporate DD into it, because their music and the 2005 tour have been tightly intertwined with my weight-loss efforts. I finally got to meet the guys for the first time in March of 2005. It was a 20-year-old dream come true, and it solidified my decision to get a Duran-related tattoo.

The piece is about 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and is on the outside of my right upper calf.
